Wedding at Dodmooor House, Northamptonshire, Nr Daventry

I recently played Dodmoor House in Northamptonshire. This is a superb facility for weddings, or corporate events. It is 2 converted barns which you can hold a wedding ceremony and wedding breakfast with access to the patio for summer drinks and BBQ’s. I have put together a review from my perspective of the facilities at Dodmoor House and the services I can provide for this venue.

Location- Dodmoor House, Weedon, Nr Daventy, Northamptonshire
Travel Time –  60 minutes travel time.
Setup time – 1hr.
Space for full setup? – Yes,
Smoke Machine – No
Bubble Machine – Yes
Lighting – On dimmer switches can be controlled fully
Room turn around time from dinner to Disco –45mins
Noise / Sound Limiter – Yes but set loud enough
Layout – Bar in next door room to Disco, but within ear shot
Staff – Organised and Helpfull. Very good at talking to me prior to the gig on the clients behalf and making sure any paperwork and timings are 100% accurate.
Really nice well organised wedding venue!

Disco and Wedding Venues Update!

Hi all,

Not been able to blog for a while as things have gone manic! Most of the venues I have played recently I think I have reviewed, will catch up with some missing reviews when I can. I’ve been out and about at Ware, Fanmhams Hall, Hanbury Manor the Marriott Hotel on the A10. Also been over to Tring and provided a full wedding disco at Pendley Manor Hotel which was an excellent venue (even though it was upstairs). The usual spot over at Tewin Bury Farm although one of the smaller barns this time. Also been back to Spains Hall in Finchingfield Essex, lovely venue and good sound system. Oh DJ’d at Coltsfoot Country Retreat too, thanks for the Lamb shank meal, lovely!

Will review Pendley Manor and Dodmoor House in Northamptonshire shortley.

Wedding at Luton Hoo – Warren Weir

At the weekend I played the Luton Hoo, Warren Weir. This is a superb facility for weddings, or corporate events. I have put together a review from my perspective of the facilities at Luton Hoo and the services I can provide for this venue.

Location- Luton Hoo, Bedfordshire Border with Hertfordshire
Travel Time –  15 minutes travel time.
Setup time – 1hr.
Space for full setup? – Yes,
Smoke Machine – Yes
Bubble Machine – Yes
Hotel Lighting – On dimmer switches can be controlled fully
Room turn around time from dinner to Disco –I would advise setup prior to the dinner.
Noise / Sound Limiter – No
Layout – Bar in next door room to Disco, Tables around edge of dance floor
Staff – Organised and Helpfull.
Great venue!

Luton Hoo Warren Weir – Wedding Venue and Disco

I will be playing Luton Hoo tomorrow in the Warren Weir building. I’m very much loooking forward to reviewing the facilities available at Luton Hoo as I hear it is one of the best wedding venues in the area. My client is having bands, a choir and singers as well as a full on party disco which I will be providing.

Wedding at Woburn Safari Lodge

At the weekend I played Woburn Safari Lodge at Woburn Safari Park. This is a nice facility for weddings, birthdays or anniversary’s. I have put together a review from my perspective of the facilities at Woburn and the services I can provide for this venue.

Location- Woburn, in the Safari Park
Travel Time –  25 minutes travel time.
Setup time – 50 mins.
Space for full setup? – Yes enough room for Disco service level 3
Smoke Machine – Yes
Bubble Machine – Yes
Lighting – On dimmer switches can be controlled fully
Room turn around time from dinner to Disco –Usually 30 – 45 minutes which is the time I can setup.
Noise / Sound Limiter – No
Layout – Bar in same room as the Disco, Tables at the end of the room.
Staff – Happy, Helpful and professional.
There were a number of play facilities available such as swan boats and a bouncy castle for the kids. Overall a good family venue.

DJ’ing at Woburn Sculpture Gallery

Once again I was providing Disco and DJ services at the Sculpture Gallery at Woburn. They had a band performing also at the wedding so I had the light show on the dance floor and tucked myself around the corner to make room for the band. Worth bearing in mind if you are thinking of having a band and disco at this venue. The band did overrun slightly but this gave me a chance to feed the carp in the lake outside, some lovely fish in there wish I’d bought a rod!

Mobile Disco Services at Ware Priory, Hertfordshire

A couple of weeks ago I played Ware Priory in Hertfordshire. Not for the first time, this is agood facility for weddings, birthdays or corporate events. I have put together a review from my perspective of the facilities at Ware Priory and the services I can provide for this venue. This particular function was a wedding for about 80 people.

Location- Ware, Hertfordshire
Travel Time –  50 minutes travel time.
Setup time – 45 mins to 1hr.
Space for full setup? – Yes enough room for Disco service level 3
Smoke Machine – No
Bubble Machine – Yes
Lighting – On dimmer switches can be controlled fully
Room turn around time from dinner to Disco –Usually 20-45 minutes which is the time I can setup.
Noise / Sound Limiter – No
Layout – Bar in same room to Disco. Disco is a little tucked around the corner.
Staff – Happy, Helpful and professional.
Other – Venue has a nice garden area for summer

Disco at Spains Hall, Finchingfield, Essex

At the weekend I played Spains Hall in Essex. Not for the first time, this is an excellent facility for weddings, birthdays or corporate events. I have put together a review from my perspective of the facilities at Spains Hall and the services I can provide for this venue. I was booked through Function Junction who are an entertainment agency and offer a truly professional service to clients. I also heard from the staff at Spains Hall that they send some really good bands to the venue if this is more your taste!

Travel Time –  1hr 40 minutes travel time.
Setup time – 45 mins to 1hr.
Space for full setup? – Yes enough room for Disco service level 3
Smoke Machine – No
Bubble Machine – Yes
Hotel Lighting – On dimmer switches can be controlled fully
Room turn around time from dinner to Disco –Usually 20-45 minutes which is the time I can setup.
Noise / Sound Limiter – No
Layout – Bar in same room to Disco on occasions, Tables around edge of dance floor
Staff – Happy, Helpful and professional.
Other – The venue has its own speaker system which can pipe around other rooms, nice system very clear.

The disco can be setup early required to return later for a small additional fee.
