Once again I was providing Disco and DJ services at the Sculpture Gallery at Woburn. They had a band performing also at the wedding so I had the light show on the dance floor and tucked myself around the corner to make room for the band. Worth bearing in mind if you are thinking of having a band and disco at this venue. The band did overrun slightly but this gave me a chance to feed the carp in the lake outside, some lovely fish in there wish I’d bought a rod!

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009I recently provided disco services for a wedding at The Sculture Gallery in Woburn, Bedfordshire. I have put together a review from my DJ perspective of the facilities and the disco services I can provide for this wedding venue.
Location- Woburn in Bedfordshire, nice gardens!
Woburn Sulpture Gallery in Bedfordshire, Wedding Hall
Travel Time - 30 minutes travel time.
Setup time – 1hr 30 minutes. Quite a distance between loading and the dance floor
Setup - Must be earlier in the day, dictated by the venue organisers
Space for full setup? – Yes enough room for Disco service level 3
Smoke Machine – Yes allowed
Bubble Machine – Yes
Venue Lighting – On dimmer switches can be controlled
Room turn around time from dinner to Disco – Not an issue due to early setup requirements and no tables positioned on the dance floor.
Noise / Sound Limiter – No
Layout – Bar in a different room to the disco, Tables around edge of dance floor. The disco in in the middle of the room. Makes it a little awkward for people crossing the dance floor. Leaves the tables out of the direct sound of the disco.
Staff – Helpfull.
I have played this venue many times, as a guide the cost would be £350 – £400 depending on the evening playing time.
