Disco Hertfordshire

Thursday, September 1st, 2016

I will be providing DJ and PA services at Shendish Manor in Hertfordshire next week. This is a long standing booking I have had for a company awards ceremony.

The requirements to DJ at Shendish Manor in Hertfordshire can be prohibitive if you are not well prepared but fortunately I now know these very well.

I’ll update with some DJ pictures next week!

DJ’ing at The Engineer in Harpenden, Hertfordshire

Monday, August 15th, 2016

Last weekend I played a wedding at The Engineer in Harpenden. This was a great disco as the sun was shining people were in good spirits when I arrived and we even had an Elvis tribute act to add to the fun!Engineer Harpenden

Music wise I ended up playing a summery house set which was well received and seemed to keep the atmosphere relaxed but buoyant.

It was a smallish setup but I did turn one half of the speakers into the conservatory area so music could be heard in different rooms. I took a couple of moving head lights and a laser. The venue had a fire not too long ago so the smoke machine was not allowed but with relatively low ceilings it was not really missed too much.

I know a few people asked me for cards on the night which I didn’t have with me so hopefully you will find me on the internet and I am happy to play London as well as Hertfordshire as was requested on the day.

See you again soon.

Shendish Manor in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

Thursday, September 10th, 2015

Shendish Manor DJI am playing at Shendish Manor tomorrow in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. I have played the venue before and this will be the third time my client has used my services for a corporate function. The venue has become extremely fussy but I have met their many demands.

I now have £5m of public liability insurance rather than £1m so if you have any other venues that require this, (not that I know of any) then I am the Mobile DJ for you!

Update 14/09/15

I have now played the venue using the venues own speaker system. The reason for this is to plug into their amp which is volume controlled. Not only that when a door is opened onto the garden and patio area the music cuts off completely. Not good if you have a lot of smokers who do not read the signs or if the air conditioning is not working well enough.

Also the sockets for their system were not securely fitted and therefore it had the potential to cut out if there was any slight movement in the cables. I recommended they look into this and have asked them to advise when they have rectified this potential risk.

Denham Village Ball at The Buckinghamshire Golf Club

Monday, July 13th, 2015

Great night on Saturday at the Denham Village Ball at the Buckinghamshire Golf Club. Thank you all round to the staff at The Buckinghamshire Golf Club for looking after me so well. Thank you chef for the extra meal it was delicious! Thanks to Rachel for inviting me to play again and for bringing such a great crowd, lots of dancing and happy faces. It was also good to meet the people from Signature Auctions, they had some fantastic items for auction and an excellent auctioneer to engage the crowd. If you would like an auction for your event please contact this company first as they do a fantastic job. Loved the Caribbean theme and look forward to next year! The buckinghamshire Golf Club

Feedback from Wedding at the Sculpture Gallery in Woburn

Friday, October 31st, 2014

It is always nice to receive feedback from my clients. I have just had this email through regarding the wedding I did in August. As I thought at the time the evening was a success and the new layout really worked as I thought it would. See pictures of the gig here http://www.acsupreme.co.uk/blog/venues-and-function-rooms/wedding-at-woburn-sculpture-gallery/

Dear Adam

Katie and I wanted to email you to offer our sincerest thanks for the wonderful job you did for us on our wedding day. Everything went perfectly and we had the most wonderful evening, and the party was even more fun with your contribution. We thought you were incredibly professional and helpful. Thank you also for giving us everything we asked for in terms of favourite songs and Irish/country music for our family to enjoy!

Please do not hesitate to let us know if there is anything we can for you in terms of reviews etc., and needless to say we will not hesitate to recommend you to any of our friends or family getting married.

All the best and thank you once again.

 Ciaran & Katie

Wedding at Woburn Sculpture Gallery

Monday, August 11th, 2014

Woburn Sculpture GalleryAt the weekend I was back doing a wedding disco at Woburn Sculpture Gallery. I have done many discos there now but this one was different. They decided to add an additional dance floor at the temple end of the room and allow the band and myself as the DJ to play down the room rather than across it. I have been wanting to do this for years at the Sculpture Gallery so was excited to try it out.

Every party is different and what works for one set of guests one night can completely flop the next night so it is hard to judge the difference in the layout. However I definitely feel the night was a hit and more people danced than would have with the normal setup position. As the music was playing at the tables it felt like the whole room was more involved in the function. It also meant the lighting could remain bright at one end for the evening buffet and darker on the dance floor without and cross over. The laser light also went all the way down the room which looked really good compared to the short distance it would usually travel across the room. It also eliminated the “dead space” usually with the DJ in the middle of the room the whole temple end is wasted space and serves no purpose.

Woburn Sculpture GalleryOver all I think this change was a success and I would recommend it where possible. Although I had setup early in the day as is usual for this venue I believe you could setup later in the day if using this layout as the disturbance at the far end is minimal whilst guests are eating etc. Therefore if you did want to use the space after hosting the actual wedding in this space I believe you could with minimal disruption.

Wedding Disco at Dodford Manor, Northamptonshire

Monday, March 10th, 2014

At the weekend I provided a wedding disco package at Dodford Manor in Northamptonshire. The venue is a series of converted barns and has a modern feel about it. Speaking to the manager it has been open only 2 years. This was my first time at the venue.

Location-Near Dodford, Northamptonshire
Travel Time –  50 minutes travel time.
Setup time – 45 Mins.
Space for full setup? – Yes,
Smoke Machine – No
Lighting – Could be switched off or dimmed.
Noise / Sound Limiter – Yes
Layout – Bar in a different room to the disco
Staff – Organised and Helpful.

Other Comments – Nice venue, the sound limiter is set quite low but this is due to the neighbouring houses. I did have to play a bit quieter than I usually would and it is quiet in the bar area around the corner away from the speakers. The setup was close to the door so means I can trim a little off the usual setup time.

Here are the comments from Paul who was the groom below. I also had some great comments from the guests on the night, one of which who I believe was into DJ’ing himself said “It is a refreshing change to hear a wedding DJ who can actually mix!” For those that don’t know this means I am able to blend the music together in a way that has maximum flow, minimal change of tempo and therefore the dancing continues from one track to the next as the songs I select do not jump around genres and tempos too much.

Hi Adam,

Thanks so much for last night, great job – everyone loved it!

A few sore heads today, mind you!

Cheers,

Paul

Wedding Disco at Missenden Abbey

Friday, July 26th, 2013

Looking forward to playing Missenden Abbey in Buckinghamshire tonight. Will be sure to write a review of the venue next week, although I think I have been there before it was some time ago. Should be a good gig looking at the playlist a proper party set on the way!
