Wedding Disco Format

Below is a guidline to how I would run the "Typical Wedding Disco". Obviously the day is yours and you can run it as you wish but this would be the most typical running order.

I would select service level 3 for most wedding venues as it offers the best looking and sounding disco.

Setup 1 hour before guests arrive and disco commences. (early setups can be arranged if required please specify)
Commence Disco with soft low key background music as guests arrive, drink meet and talk
Invite Bride and Groom to cut the Wedding Cake
Announce Buffet or Food if available (usually 60-90 mins into event)
Allow 45 mins to 60 mins to eat continue playing non intruding music maybe some music for smaller children at this point
Invite Bride and Groom to dance floor for first dance
Invite other couples to join in for second slow song
Invite requests for the remainder of the night from the floor, dip all hall lights, release small amount of smoke, activate intelligent lighting, increase volume and play out the disco with all requests and party music.
Close disco play out last song (not always a slow song not my style like to finish with a full dance floor)
Pack up approx 30-45 minutes

Experience

I have been gigging now for 10years and have a vast experience of wedding discos and functions. I am happy to liase with bands or other entertainment on your night to make sure the whole evening runs as smoothly as possible. I won't blast the music out from the off and talk over each track to introduce it. I simply play the right music for you and your guests, offer requests to the floor, and put on a great, modern, light show. I can mix my tunes so there are no big empty gaps between songs and no need to talk over the end of the tracks. I also build up the night appreciating that most people don't want to dance straight away and would rather have a drink and a chat with quieter music before hitting the dance floor later on.
